The graduates who studied in China are one of the groups who know best of China in various countries and regions. They have studied and lived in China with a deep love with the nation. As a result, they have acted as an important bridge between China and other countries through people-to-people exchanges.
Sponsored by theChinese Embassy in Japan and jointly organized by the CSCSE and Waseda University, the Japanese delegations, whose members are people who had studied in China in the past, have visited China for many times. During their visit, the group visited well-known enterprises, tasted Chinese cuisine, visited their alma maters, experienced the rapid development of China. Such visits help them better understand the present China and bring back the fresh impression to their current work and life.
Previous visits of foreign students to China
The first delegation’s visits to Beijing and Shanghai
From October 30 to November 5, 2016, the first delegation of 50 people visited China. Led by Mr Koguchi Hikota, Pesident of Edokawa University (a former Vice-President of Waseda University) and Mr Jiang Zhengyin, head of East Asia Affairs Department of Waseda University, the delegation visited departments of Chinese central government, universities in Beijing and Shanghai, Japanese Embassy in China, Chinese and Japanese enterprises and the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone.
During their visit, Yang Yu from the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fang Jun from the International Department of the Ministry of Education briefed the delegation the current Sino-Japanese relations, the Sino-Japanese educational exchanges and the basic information of Japanese students who are studying in China. The delegation toured Peking University and Fudan University in Beijing and Shanghai. They also visited Yuanpei College, Yenching Academy and Asian youth apartments. Talks were held with students and teachers from Peking University and Fudan University. The teachers and students of from the Department of Japanese Language from the two universities gave a warm welcome and a wonderful performance to the delegatio.
The delegation also visited Huawei Technology’s Beijing institute to experience Huawei”s corporate culture and Yakult Honsha investment company in Shanghai to learn about the development of Japanese companies in China.
The second delegation of 100 people paid a visit to China on November 22-26, 2017. The head of the delegation is 岩佐敬昭from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology and the deputy head of delegation is Mr. Jiang Zhengyin from the East Asia Affairs Department of Waseda University. The itinerary of the delegation includes visits to Hangzhou International Expo Center, which is the main venue of the G20 Summit, Alibaba, Commercial Aircraft Corp of China and Fudan University. They also participated workshops on innovative entrepreneurship policies and related work for foreign students.
