Located in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province of China, Anhui Agricultural University (AAU) is a key university, with a long history specializing in agriculture and forestry. It is supported by the Anhui provincial government, China Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and National Forestry and Grassland Administration. It was recognized by the Chinese central government as one of the first ten universities nationwide to establish a Research Institute for New Rural Development, and it was selected as one of the “distinctive universities with unique features” in Anhui Province.

AAU currently has 19 schools, with a full-time enrollment of 22,100 students (including 155 international students), of whom 3,307 are postgraduates. Among the 1,783 staff, 715 are professors or associate professors. Among this group, over 800 work as PhD and master’s students’ supervisors. Besides, AAU possesses 11 national talents and 21 provincial talents.

At present, two disciplines in AAU are listed among top 1% in ESI, and there is one national key discipline in process, 19 provincial key disciplines, five post-doctoral mobile research stations, five A-level and 38 B-level PhD programs, as well as 16 A-level master’s degree programs, and 8 special doctor’s programs. At present there are 80 undergraduate programs, including five national-level programs of distinction, two national-level pilot programs, two nationally recognized pedagogical teams, four nationally recognized courses (two superior courses, two national online open courses). AAU has one nationally recognized off-campus internship base, one national-level teaching laboratory, three national-level integrated agriculture, science and education training bases, two national-level pilot projects in advanced agricultural personnel training.

With an open-minded strategy for educational internationalization, AAU has set up close links with universities and research institutes from over 30 countries and regions, such as US, UK, Canada, Japan, Germany and Australia. AAU was ratified respectively by China Association of Science and Technology as one of “Anhui Overseas Talents’ Agricultural Bases” and by China Ministry of Education as one of Chinese universities eligible to admit international students funded by China Scholarship. China Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs conferred to AAU one of its foreign language training centers for the South-South Cooperation Project. A“National Demonstrative International Science and Technology Cooperation Base”was approved as well. The cooperation between AAU and Colorado State University of USA has been incorporated into the “China-US University-Based Agricultural Extension Alliance.”

Founded in 1903, Anhui Business College, or ABC is a publicly-funded full-time vocational college under the direct leadership of Anhui Provincial Department of Education. It is located in Wuhu, a national open city along the Yangtze River and close to Shanghai and Nanjing. In 2019, ABC is listed under Double High-level Project of China. It boasts a lot of other titles: Top 200 Vocational Colleges in China, National Flagship Vocational Colleges of Higher Education, Top 50 National Higher Education Institutions for Employment Work, Top 50 National Higher Education Institutions for Practice Management, Pilot Unit of Modern Apprenticeship, Pilot Unit of “1+X” Certificate, etc.

ABC has over 500 full-time teachers and nearly 12,000 students. Over 90% percent of its faculties are double-qualified teachers. ABC now is composed of 9 teaching departments and 40 majors. Presently, ABC possesses a batch of high quality education resources including national-level key developing majors, national-level teaching repository, national-level production-oriented training and teaching base, national-level faculty training center and 255 training bases with advanced equipment and complete supporting facilities. Founded in 1950, Anhui Science and Technology University (AHSTU) is a provincial university with a long history and profound cultural heritage. AHSTU started undergraduate education in 1965, and now it stands as a multidisciplinary university with a set of coordinated developed disciplines. There are 17,226 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates, with more than 100,000 outstanding graduates serving for global economic and social development.
Today’s AHSTU has two campuses—Fengyang campus and the Bengbu Longhu campus, covering an area of approximately 2,000 mu with floor area of 580,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment amounting to 250 million yuan, AHSTU has 5 basic experimental teaching centers and 26 experimental Centers (labs) for professional groups, and 7 subject platforms. In addition, there are 3 national science and technology innovation platforms, 1 national off-campus practical education base for college students, 15 provincial science and technology innovation platforms, and 9 provincial demonstration experimental training centers. AHSTU at present consists of 14 colleges which offer 50 undergraduate programs. AHSTU hosts more than 1,200 faculty members, including 394 professors and associate professors, 863 teachers with doctoral and master’s degrees, 11 national and provincial honored teachers, 2 new century outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education, 5 provincial academic and technical leaders and reserve candidates, and 8 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council and the provincial government. AHSTU places great emphasis on scientific research and technology development. In the past five years, the university undertook over 1600 research projects at various levels, including the National Natural Science Fund and the Social Science Fund; more than 400 of them are at the provincial (ministerial) level or above. Over 65 academic monographs and more than 1,200 academic papers have been published. The university has won 71 scientific research awards above the city level and has obtained 1,055 patents, including 255 invention patents, which made it one of the top ten universities for many years in Anhui Province. There are more than 500 cooperation research projects jointly carried out by AHSTU with local governments and related enterprises. The university is vigorously advancing the “International Cooperation in Running Schools Project” and has established exchanges and cooperation relationships with 26 universities in the United States, South Korea and the United Kingdom. Beijing Forestry University build a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Education and the State Forestry Administration. School’s history can be traced back to 1902, the Imperial University of Agriculture Colin school head. In 1952, the National College to adjust, Beijing Agricultural University Department of Forestry Department of Forestry, Hebei Agricultural College merged Beijing Forestry University.

Beijing Information Science & Technology University (BISTU) is a merger of the former Beijing Institute of Machinery (BIM) and Beijing Information Technology Institute (BITI) which were under the administration of the former Ministry of Machinery and Ministry of Electronic Industry respectively. It has a proud history dating back to the 1930s. It is a key university supervised and supported by Beijing Municipality with a complete range of disciplines and programs in information technology and related areas. In BISTU’s over 80 years of development, it has formed its distinctive features and characteristics in information technology.

There are 5 campuses at BISTU in Haidian and Chaoyang District. A new campus of 79 hectares started its overall construction in 2018. The first phase of the project will hopefully be completed in 2020.

There are 12 schools in BISTU. They are the School of Computer Science, the School of Information and Communication Engineering, the School of Automation, the School of Electromechanical Engineering, the School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, the School of Information Management, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Media and Public Administration, the School of Foreign Studies, the School of Applied Sciences and the College of International Education and so on.

Currently BISTU has 14 first-tier disciplines and 43 second-tier disciplines conferring Master Degrees. BISTU also offers 6 categories for professional Master’s Degrees, and 8 fields for Master of Engineering. Its disciplines cover 6 areas including engineering, management, science, economics, liberal arts and law. Among the 12,500 fulltime students registered at BISTU, 11,000 are undergraduates and 1,500 are graduates. The employment rate of both bachelor and master students remains 100%.

BISTU continues to boost globalization of education. As of today, cooperative relationships have been established between BISTU and over 100 universities in the U.S., U.K, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada and Taiwan region, offering double bachelor degree and double master degree programs and joint PhD training programs.

The International students’ education in our university could be traced back to 1998 when the first batch of International students were enrolled. In October 2013, the College of International Education (CIE for short) was established. It has admitted more than 1,000 international students since its establishment. It now offers both Chinese bachelor and master programs and an English program in “International Economics and Trade”.

CIE is conveniently located near the 2008 Olympic Park. It’s next to the famous Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. There is a large shopping center, banks and restaurants nearby. In the dormitory building, each room can be shared by two students with a TV set, free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom.

CIE is responsible for overseas students’ education, international cooperation projects’ development, Chinese language training and other relevant skills training. All the bachelor and master degree programs are open to International students.

In addition, CIE provides many chances to experience China outside the classroom. Chinese culture seminars such as Tai-chi, calligraphy,painting are offered to CIE students. What’s more, our students are organized to visit famous tourist attractions such as the Great Wall, the Summer Palace and so on. We also encourage students to participate in competitions such as Chinese Language Star Contest to enhance their practice of what they learn.
